The Question!

Recently, the ice was broken. I was confronted with a question, the biggest ever. It crossed my path absolutely out of the blue that my heart missed a beat the moment it darted into me. It was a challenge simple on the face but complex at heart; it grasped, nabbed, captured me firmly. It was an enquiry very thirsty for a rapid reliable response, so hungry to be fed, satisfied with a veritable, valid answer. It was so fragile, evoking, brainstorming, compelling and kindling that I broke out in a sweat at the very thought of how I would carry it in my mental faculty without letting it drop, shatter, and handle it appropriately.
I had only one choice; I had just a few moments to search everywhere, everything inside of me, to find and provide an objective reaction. I started at the drop of a hat. I housebroke, ransacked my past, stole everything relevant it contained; enticed my present, gained and explored an access into its whole, and embezzled its germane composition; blended both booties into a single structure, with which I exercised my creative capability and out of which I created a well thought feedback.
The question? I will tell you; I will tell you because I have promised not to "hurt or upset" my readers with suspense this time. Not today. I ought not to give such a package to you as a Christmas gift.

I am thinking of drafting, preparing New Year's resolutions; I am consulting advisors. One of them suggests that I should sack my beautiful, capable employee, "Thriller", and recruit "someone else" instead. The whyness of this suggestion, you and I do not need to wonder at, because we know already. I will yield if and only if I am supplied new, sound criteria for the proposed recruitment, for I am contented with my old, ever young model.
You want to know the acceptable qualifications my model features? I have said them but I will not hesitate to repeat myself, to hastily elucidate, too.
According to what I have, the job seeker must be beautiful and capable. Beauty, here, is defined as the ability of the physical features of the applicant to stand out as feast for the eyes, fascinate readers, create an adorable, lasting, mental impression of the power, prowess of writing as a marvelous creative process in them always. As regards capability, the hopeful must be able to seductively stir readers' boiling eyes, imaginations, expectations and knock their socks off. The job-hunter must be able to provide pleasing, adventurous, memorable writings to our hearts' content.
Above all, the applicant must bear a name that categorically portrays its obligation to thrill, hence it must bear the name, "Thriller".
While jobsearching, Miss Suspense stumbled upon my job advert, and duly applied. She was extremely attractive, sounded convincingly capable at first sight and encounter; and her full name, Thriller Suspense, was just that perfect edifice I had longed for; all won my consideration, the position, and I had been a happy boss ever since. All thanks, glory and honour to God, the Creator, Giver of Every Grace and Gift to humanity, including Wisdom.
It is high time I disclosed the question and my reply. It was a sequence of sagely framed, five giant, interrogative words. "What is your greatest possession?" I was asked softly but seriously. Much as it was something I least anticipated, I assured myself it was definitely not something out of my depth. I followed my thought pattern faithfully, meticulously and found a real find based on the fact that God was Everything, Everything I needed to have everything I needed to be who I must be. Moreover, whatever I had was God's provision for me, whatever was God's provision for me was for a purpose and the purpose was for me to be who I was created to be. Then, I began to shatter the ice, inspiringly, happily. "My greatest possession is God," I answered, seriously, too. I related my answer and a healthy discussion on the question at greater lengths anon thereafter. And I was glad I did.
The significance of Christmas is remarkable. It is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God (my greatest possession, what about you?), by Virgin Mary, Joseph's darling wife. Conceived by the Holy Spirit, born in Bethlehem of Judaea, three wise men see his star, trace it successfully and gift him historic treasures: gold, frankincense and myrrh. (Matthew 1: 20-25; 2: 1-11.)
Who am I created to be? Who are you created to be? He is born to make us who we ought to be. He is born to fight and win the war against sin and its woes, including death, for us. He is born to be largely tempted, acutely persecuted, libellously smeared, maliciously accused, gruesomely humiliated, outrageously condemned, brutally, mercilessly hanged on the Cross of Calvary, buried and to resurrect on the third day to set us free from the woeful grip of sin, give us eternal salvation and life. He achieves all awesomely, thereby, setting up a life without end for the benefit of everyone. He is Emmanuel (God With Us); He is with us, every time, in every situation. Of course, He is the same yesterday, today and forever in all circumstances.
We exist to fear God, to live for God, to be children, ambassadors of God so that our end will be glorious. Jesus saves to establish the fear of God in us, to make us God's children and ambassadors, live for him, so that our end will be glorious. Make the best sense out of every opportunity given you by the gospel of Christ now that you have it. Use this opportunity well now that you still have the breath.
